BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Procurement is requesting approval to utilize contracts with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) to maximize the procurement process.
Hernando County Code of Ordinances, Article V, Purchasing Regulations/Procurement Section 2-108 Bidding Procedure paragraph c2 allows "The purchase and/or leasing of goods, supplies, materials or services for county use from a valid current continuing contract or from other valid current continuing contracts with the State of Florida or other local governments or similar entities, including but not limited to associations acting on behalf of state, county or municipal officials."
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is a state agency per Florida Statutes that are authorized to conduct solicitations under the State Schedule process. The State Schedule process is approved by the Federal Transit Administration under the FAST Act for agency use. Any agency within the State of Florida can utilize the State of Florida contracts as it was solicited as a "State Schedule".
