Appointment of New Member to the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is to assist the Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization in a review and advisory capacity relating to transportation planning and programming for Citrus and Hernando counties. The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) consists of eleven (11) citizen positions appointed by the Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization Board. Seven (7) of the eleven (11) positions are currently filled. Stephen Hohman, the representative for Hernando County - Unincorporated, has resigned due to increased job-related travel and his resulting inability to attend CAC meetings. CAC members serve a two-year term. John Scharch has submitted an application to fill the vacant Hernando County - Unincorporated position. The application is attached for review by the Board.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Hernando-Citrus MPO Board appoint John Scharch to serve on the Citizens Advisory Committee in the Hernando County - Unincorporated position for a period of two (2) years (September 3, 2026, through September 2, 2028).
