Summary of Applicant’s Request:
The petitioner is requesting approval of a Special Exception Use Permit to operate a private hunting camp on an approximately 2.5-acre parcel zoned AG (Agricultural). The property is located within the Richloam tract of the State Forest.
The petitioner is proposing to allow up to four (4) recreational vehicles or travel trailers on the property at any one time. The petitioner has also advised that all recreational vehicles will be self-contained, with all water and wastewater contained within the RV holding tanks. The holding tanks will be emptied off-site, and no water or wastewater will be discharged on the property.

LEGAL NOTE
The Planning and Zoning Commission has jurisdiction over the subject application; the Commission has the ability to approve special exceptions with appropriate conditions and safeguards or deny special exceptions not in harmony with the Land Development Regulations. The Applicable Criteria for a special exception are contained in Appendix A, (Zoning Code) Article V, Section 8. The Special Exception must be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.

It is recommended that the Planning and Zoning Commission approve the petitioner’s request for a Special Exception Use Permit for a Hunting Camp, with performance conditions.
