Water and Sewer Agreement With Pulte Home Company, LLC, for Barclay Force Main Extension Project

BRIEF OVERVIEW
A section of gravity main along Barclay Road has been identified as being at capacity. The Hernando County Utilities Department (HCUD) has a funded Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) project under way, Hut Pumping Station and Force Main Project, which will alleviate the capacity issue by installing a 12” force main, along with several other items related to the HUT pumping station at Barclay Road and Spring Hill Drive. Since the timeline for completion of this project is several years out, several private projects have been prevented from moving forward due to the lack of capacity.
Pulte Home Company, LLC (Developer) approached HCUD willing to install the section of force main along Barclay Road which would free up enough capacity for their project, as well as several others, in addition to helping expedite HCUD’s completion of this section of the overall CIP Project mentioned above.
The Barclay Force Main Extension Project Agreement was drafted to reflect agreed-upon terms and conditions for the Developer’s portion of the CIP project, including a lump-sum reimbursement from HCUD to the Developer for the work they will do to help expedite the CIP project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
No financial impact at this time. Upon completion of project, funds to pay the Developer are in Account No. 4144-07244-5626323.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board, on behalf of the Hernando County Water and Sewer District, has the authority to approve this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board, on behalf of the Hernando County Water and Sewer District, approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Barclay Force Main Extension Project Agreement and authorize staff to record the agreement in the Public Records of Hernando County.
