body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

The One-Way Alley is located north of Northcliffe Boulevard beginning at Northcliffe Boulevard at the Northcliffe Church then going in a one-way direction that intersects with Lamson Avenue and ends at the intersection with Hearth Road. Several businesses back up to and use the alley. Staff has received complaints concerning vehicles and trailers parking in the alley and on the right-of-way causing the alley to be impassable and damaging the shoulders. This is especially unsafe, as it restricts access to emergency vehicles as well.

Staff is recommending “No Parking on Right-of-Way, Tow Away Zone and $110 Fine” signs be placed on the unnamed One-Way Alley that begins at Northcliffe Boulevard, intersects with Lamson Avenue, and ends at the intersection with Hearth Road to prevent parking within the road right-of-way and to curtail damage to the roadway shoulders.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funds in the amount of $875.70 are available from:

Fund: 1011 - Transportation Trust Fund, Department: 03081 - DPW-Traffic Division, Account: 5305310 - Materials-Signs.

Signage installation will be accomplished by in-house staff.

LEGAL NOTE

The Board is authorized to act on this matter pursuant to Section 20-40 of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances, and Chapter 125 and Chapter 316, Florida Statutes.
