Residential Lease and On-Site Security Agreement With Wyatt Slack for Cypress Lakes Preserve Monitoring

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Attached is a lease and on-site security agreement between the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners and Wyatt Slack for the security residence at Cypress Lakes Preserve. Mr. Slack is an employee of Hernando County.
Pursuant to Cypress Lakes Preserve Management Plan - Task 12 Management Technique - the Lessee will be responsible for monitoring the preserve to prevent vandalism, criminal activity, and for the protection of natural resources. As the County owns the house, there is a provision for a rental fee of $1200.00 per month to cover the future maintenance needs and a fee of $21.90 for monthly security alarm monitoring. There are also provisions requiring documentation of routine monitoring and incidents (monthly monitoring reports) and implementing the County’s Environmentally Sensitive Lands Public Use Ordinance (2003-18) which prescribes provisions for additional protection of the property.

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statute.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Residential Lease and On-Site Security Agreement with Wyatt Slack for the Cypress Lakes Preserve residence, and the Addendum attached thereto regarding Liquidated Damages and Early Termination.
