body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
On February 23 and February 24, 2023, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office led search and rescue efforts for a missing child in the area of Cheever Road. With the assistance of several local and state law enforcement agencies, community members were invited to help in the search efforts and over 500 volunteers answered that call. Our community provided physical efforts in the search, shared social media information, prayed, and donated food and drinks throughout the incident. The missing child was located at 10:42 a.m., on February 24, 2023, and the Board of County Commissioners wants to recognize the endless support given throughout our community to this happy ending. Volunteer support is crucial during times such as these and the Board expresses its deep gratitude to everyone involved in bringing this child home.
