The County’s inaugural Citizens Academy offered residents a behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates. Over six months, participants toured County facilities, met staff, and learned about essential services ranging from water conservation and rain barrel use to road repairs and street sign production.
The program strengthened transparency, encouraged civic engagement, and built connections between residents and County operations. Today’s presentation highlights key takeaways, and classmates and attendees are invited to share feedback as the County plans future Citizens Academy programs.
