BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Annual Certifications and Assurances for FY 2024 were published by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on March 1, 2024. As a recipient of federal funding for transit planning, operations, and capital, Hernando County has 90 days from the date of publication to submit the executed Certifications and Assurances to FTA.
In accordance with 49 U.S.C. 5323(n), each applicant for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding assistance is required to provide a series of Certifications and Assurances that the funding recipient complies with federal laws.
Hernando County attorney approved and executed the attached revised Certification and Assurances on March 4, 2024.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
A matter of policy. The Certifications and Assurances are required by the Federal Transit Administration to receive federal funding for transit.

The Board has the authority to take the recommended action pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes and 49 USC, Chapter 53.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Transit Administrator’s signature on the attached revised Federal Fiscal Year 2024 Certifications and Assurances for FTA Assistance Programs.
