Approval of Hernando County Opioid Prevention Grant Awards - Round 4

BRIEF OVERVIEW
As part of the 2021 Florida Opioid Allocation and Statewide Response Agreement with the State Attorney General, Hernando County has agreed to use funding received from these settlements on opioid and substance abuse education, treatment, prevention and other related programs and services. Hernando County Health and Human Services announced Requests for Applications on March 20, 2026, for the $600,000 Hernando County has been allocated from the most recent round of the national opioid lawsuit settlement agreements negotiated through the State of Florida Attorney General's Office.
A total of eight (8) applications were received totaling $1,461,416.

Hoffman Publishing, LLC - $65,000

Premier Community Health Care - $170,002.00
Treatment Courts, 5th Judicial Circuit - $128,000
A scoring committee consisting of Veda Ramirez, Housing and Supportive Services Director, Erik Rizzo, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Data Analyst, Erin Briggs, Grants Compliance Coordinator, and Brittney Flora, LSF System of Care Manager - CORE and Opioid Abatement rated the applications for funding consideration. Applicants Hoffman Publishing and My Sober Care received the lowest scores and decisions were made not to fund those organizations. Discussions were had with the remaining providers wishing to provide services in Hernando and agreements regarding funding amounts and services are attached for review and approval for treatment, prevention, recovery, wraparound services, and criminal justice involved services totaling $536,576.
