BRIEF OVERVIEW
On February 5, 2026, Hernando County Fire Department submitted a request to the Procurement Department to piggyback Fire Equipment, Supplies and Services with Lake County, (Contract No. 22-730I; Hernando County File No. 26-P0280), with North America Fire Equipment Co., Inc., for Fire Equipment, Supplies and Services, and with a contract expiration date of July 31, 2027.
The Contract is in the last two (2) year renewal period.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding will come from budgeted funds in the amount of $30,000.00 per Fiscal Year in the following:
Expense:
Fund: 1661- Fire Services, Department: 02261- Fire Services, Account: 5305205, Clothing & Uniform Apparel, in the amount of $15,000.00
Fund: 1691- EMS Services, Department: 02491- EMS Services, Account: 5305205, Clothing & Uniform Apparel, in the amount of $15,000.00

recommendation
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve the utilization of Lake County contract with North America Fire Equipment Co., Inc., for fire equipment, supplies and services in the amount of $60,000.00 with an estimated annual spend of $30,000.00.
It is further recommended that the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to renew the contract with the same terms and conditions and approve change orders as they become necessary and required up to annual budgeted amounts.
