Resolution Amending Department of Public Works Fee Schedule for Engineering and Road Maintenance Division Fees

BRIEF OVERVIEW

With the Tyler Enterprise Permitting & Licensing software implementation and recent interest in user fees verse property taxes, the Public Works Department has completed a review of the current fee schedule for Development Review fees for Engineering as well as Right-of-Way Utilization Permit fees.  The fee schedule for this department has not been revised since 2017 when an addition was made for outside consultants review fees of Transportation Analysis Study provided with Land Use Applications.  Prior to that the fees had not been revised since 2006.  The proposed fees have been revised based on department efforts to inspect, review and approve both development review projects and Right-of-Way Utilization Permits.

 

Public Works has also updated the attached Right-of-Way Utilization Application form as part of the Tyler integration. 

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

It is anticipated that the updated fees will increase revenue to offset increase costs of providing the services.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board adopt and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached proposed resolution to amend the Department of Public Works’ Fee Schedule.
