BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Dr. Dennis Wilfong Center for Success is a joint project between the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Hernando County School District, and Pasco-Hernando State College. On April 26, 2022, the BOCC approved the Florida Job Growth Infrastructure Grant Agreement with the State of Florida for infrastructure improvements to support construction of the Dr. Dennis Wilfong Center for Success Government and Education Center in the amount of $6,159,600.00. The grant agreement provides for the cost of infrastructure development.
Hernando County School District has submitted an invoice to Hernando County BOCC in the amount of $260,142.78 for reimbursement of costs associated with landscaping at Wilton Simpson Technical College, which is located on the Dr. Dennis Wilfong Center for Success site. This invoice is eligible for reimbursement with funds awarded by the Florida Job Growth Infrastructure Grant.

The administrative Budget Amendment, BA2025-064, moves budget from Account: 5606201 - BLDGS-Constn and/or Imp to the account above to align with the payment.
There is also a pending change order (CO) that will reduce the current encumbrance (purchase order amount) shown on the financial. The CO hasn't hit the books yet, but it will restore the budget when it is applied. This grant has approximately 3 months to get spent out; hence, every effort should be made to ensure the project(s) are completed and the funds are spent in a timely manner.
