BRIEF OVERVIEW
At the October 28, 2025, Hernando County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting, the BOCC approved Item No. 16561 allowing the Sheriff’s Office to apply for the Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program Grant. This budget amendment would fund the entire first year of the program, without any potential funding from the grant award.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
A total of $2,900,000 has been requested from the Sheriff’s Office to fund the Body-Worn Camera Program.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve attached budget amendment and authorize the transfer of funds from reserves to the Sheriff’s Office to fund the body-worn camera program.
