Update and Request for Additional Staffing to Operate Splash Park at Anderson Snow Sports Complex

BRIEF OVERVIEW
After reviewing the Splash Park operation over the last 2 months, the Parks Department has determined that the original staffing projections made have been insufficient to adequately provide oversight of capacity, safety, and routine maintenance of the Splash Park operation. The Parks Department has been utilizing temporary staffing services to adequately staff the operation.
* Option 1 - The Parks Department is requesting (3) three full-time employees to be added to the Parks Department. The positions sought are titled Maintenance II/Splash Pad Attendant, Grade 1.
These positions would replace any temporary staff and provide necessary operational staffing needs for the Opening and Closing shifts currently scheduled at 7 days a week. In the off-season, the Park's Department will utilize these staff members throughout the Park Maintenance division.
* Option 2 - The Board authorize the repurposing of the Dock Worker positions as an alternate staffing solution for the Splash Park operation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Option 1- The cost for one (1) Maintenance Worker II/Splash Pad Attendant is $67,772, the cost for three (3) additional Maintenance Worker II/Splash Pad Attendant positions would total $203,316. Upon approval from the Board, this position(s) would be added to the FY 2026 budget in:
Fund: 0011 - General Fund, Department: 04441 - Parks & Recreation.
Option 2- No financial impact.
