Approval of Hernando County Opioid Settlement Response Plan
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
The State of Florida is a clearinghouse for opioid lawsuit settlement monies through which participating local governments receive those funds. As a “non-qualified county” (population less than 300,000) per the Florida Opioid Allocation and Statewide Response Agreement, this funding is distributed to various providers by LSF Health System as Hernando County’s behavioral health managing entity.
The attached proposed Opioid Settlement Response Plan governs the use of Hernando County Response funds and the Regional Opioid Settlement Funds with the goal of expanding use of the programs and services already in place, as well as future programs that might be adopted. The plan also identifies core strategies, approved funds usage, priorities and projects the County will implement with the funding.
The Public Safety Coordinating Committee along with various stakeholders have agreed to the proposed plan and approve of its submittal to the State of Florida.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
None. Funds to pay for various projects or initiatives are provided to LSF Health Systems by Department of Children and Families. LSF Health Systems will provide funding to Hernando County providers for each proposed project.
