BRIEF OVERVIEW

Request:

Rezoning from AR (Agricultural/Residential) and C-2 (Highway Commercial) to PDP(GC)/ Planned Development Project (General Commercial) with a specific C-2 use for outdoor storage

 

General Location:

West side of Broad Street (US HWY 41) at its intersection with Old Ayres Road

 

P&Z Action:

On the June 10, 2024, hearing of the Planning and Zoning Board approved a postponement of the hearing to the July 8, 2024, Planning and Zoning Board Meeting.

Hearing Detail:

The following members were present at the June 10, 2024, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting: Chairman Nicholas Holmes, Vice Chairman W. Steve Hickey; Kathryn Birren, and Jonathan McDonald.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

A matter of policy.  No financial impact.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to make the requested rezoning decision pursuant to Chapters 125 and 163 Florida Statutes.  The Applicable Criteria for a Zoning District Amendment are contained in Appendix A (Zoning Code), Article VI.  The Applicable Criteria for a PDP are found in Appendix A (Zoning Code), Article VIII.  The Zoning District Amendment must be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board postpone the petitioner’s request for a rezoning from AR (Agricultural/Residential) and C-2 (Highway Commercial) to PDP(GC)/ Planned Development Project (General Commercial) with a specific C-2 use for outdoor storage.
