The former runway will be improved and brought up to current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design standards. The project will consist of converting approximately 2,100 feet of the runway to an active taxiway and prepare the southwest side of the airfield for future aviation development as depicted on the approved Airport Layout Plan.
