Final Bid Notification for Amount Due to State Department of Transportation for Utility Work Along US 301 From Pasco County Line to State Road 50/Cortez Boulevard Project and Associated Budget Amendment

BRIEF OVERVIEW
On November 6, 2023, the Board approved a Utility Work by Highway Contractor Agreement (UWHCA) between Hernando County Utilities Department (HCUD) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the utility construction portion of FDOT’s US 301 from Pasco County Line to SR50/Cortez Boulevard project. Per the agreement, the project was bid out and came in $1,447,944.00 higher than was budgeted. The FDOT agreement only provides 14 days to transfer funds to cover the cost increase.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds will be available in HCUD Renewal and Replacement accounts:
Fund: 4121 - HCUD Renewal and Replacement, Department: 07201- Renewal and Replacement, Account: 5626302 - Improv-Water Line Upgrade, in the amount of $984,602.00, and Fund: 4121 - HCUD Renewal and Replacement, Department: 07201 - Renewal and Replacement, Account: 5626303 - Improv-Wtr PLNT/Well/Stor in the amount of $463,342.00, upon approval of the Budget Amendment attached.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the wire transfer of funds to FDOT in the amount of $1,447,944.00 and approve the attached associated budget amendment.
