Public Transportation Grant Agreements with the Florida Department of Transportation for State Block Grant and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5311 Transit Funding and Associated Resolution

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners (Board) receives yearly allocations for Operating Funds from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
The following Public Transportation Grant Agreements (PTGA) are presented for Board approval:
• FDOT State Block Grant Funds - Contract No. G3O94 (Hernando County Direct Recipient)
o Operating - 50% FDOT and 50% Match 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax in the amount of $1,025,512 (FDOT $512,756/Hernando Match $512,756).
• FTA Section 5311 funds that are distributed by FDOT - Contract No. G3P64 (FDOT is the recipient)
o Operating - 50% FDOT and 50% Match 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax in the amount of $1,144,090 (FDOT $572,045/Hernando Match $572,045).
Additionally, it is recommended that the Board adopt the attached resolution authorizing the Chair and/or his or her designee to accept and execute the proposed grants, as well as take all other actions necessary to effectuate and fulfill such grants.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman's signature on the attached Public Transportation Grant Agreements for State Block Grant (Contract No. G3O94) and FTA Section 5311 (Contract No. G3P64). It is further recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman's signature on the attached resolution authorizing the Chair and/or his or her designee to accept and execute the proposed grants.
