BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County recently acquired the property located at 924 Hale Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34601, Parcel Key Nos. 972772 and 1251424.
Following this purchase, existing tenant Herbert Sherbert, Inc., remained in occupancy and requested a brief transition period before vacating the premises.
During the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners meeting on October 28, 2025, the Board instructed staff to enter into a short-term License Agreement with the tenant rather than proceeding with immediate eviction. This agreement will permit continued occupancy for up to 30 days, with the possibility of a further 30-day extension, if needed, for a fee of $1,500.00 per month. This arrangement provides a structured, temporary solution while the tenant completes their relocation, ensuring the County can assume full operational control of the building once the agreement expires.
The license agreement officially authorizes temporary occupancy of the Hernando County-owned property at 924 Hale Avenue, Brooksville, Parcel Key No. 972772 for the specified duration.
The County Administrator, as authorized by statute, signed the License Agreement on behalf of Hernando County on October 29, 2025.
