body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

On July 22, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners heard a request from James Boyko seeking forgiveness of five Public Nuisance Abatement Special Assessment Liens on property he used to own at 8405 Hillcrest Drive (Key No. 136917), agenda Item No. 16084.  The liens were in the name of Catherine Hehmann, the prior property owner.

After considering Mr. Boyko’s explanation and the circumstances involved, the Board voted to forgive only the accrued interest provided he pay the principal amounts due within six months.  On August 7, 2025, Code Enforcement reported that the principals had been paid in their entirety.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The total of the principal amount paid was $4,841.12; the amount of interest forgiven was $1,332.02.

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
