BRIEF OVERVIEW
On August 1, 2024, Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency in the State of Florida due to the severity of Invest 97L. A State of Local Emergency was declared for a period of seven (7) days for Hernando County, effective August 2, 2024. Copies of the Governor's Executive Order No. 24-156 and Proclamation No. 2024-02 entitled Declaration of State of Local Emergency are attached.

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, Hernando County Code XII, § 21-201 through 21-210, and Executive Order No. 24-156.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the actions taken by Emergency Management during the State of Emergency declared for Tropical Disturbance Invest 97L and ratify the Chairperson’s signature on Proclamation Number 2024-02.
