BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Solid Waste Department received an application for a commercial solid waste collectors license from Donna Collins, Owner, Roadie Dumpsters, LLC, 1260 Batten Road, Brooksville, Florida 34602.

The Hernando County Code requires the Board of County Commissioners review the application and make a determination the applicant has the ability to comply with the provisions of the Code, as may be amended from time to time. A public hearing is not required unless, after review of the application, the Board determines a public hearing would be in the best interest of the public. Staff is of the opinion a public hearing is not necessary.

Roadie Dumpsters, LLC has attested to the Solid Waste Department only Construction and Demolition Debris (C&D) and commercial solid waste will be collected and disposed at the designated facilities. C&D may be disposed at any facility approved by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for C&D disposal. All other solid waste shall be disposed at the Hernando County Northwest Waste Management Facility located at 14450 Landfill Road, Brooksville, Florida 34614.

The tonnage of both C&D and commercial solid waste removed from Hernando County must be reported annually to the Hernando County Solid Waste Department.

Additionally, the amount of material recycled from C&D collected, (i.e.: asphalt, concrete, brick, wood, shingles, cardboard, metal, etc.), must be reported to Hernando County Solid Waste Department annually. If the amount of material recycled exceeds 600 tons per year, Roadie Dumpsters, LLC must submit an annual Recycling Debris Report to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Hernando County Solid Waste Department is required to receive a copy of the report. (Hernando County receives credit for all recovered material that originates within the County.)
