BRIEF OVERVIEW

Parcel Key No. 13087 is a 91,337 square foot parcel (or 2.09 acres), located on Josephine Street.  In purchasing this property on Josephine Street, Hernando County may utilize this property to help mitigate flooding in the South Brooksville area.

 

Because the parcel is under contract by the owner, Charles P. Mobley, to Gazelle Home Offers, LLC, Hernando County must enter into an assignment of that contract with Gazelle Home Offers.  Mr. Mobley has consented to the sale by Gazelle Home Offers to Hernando County.

Staff recommends that the purchase of the Josephine Street parcel be approved.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding for the property acquisition and associated closing costs are available in Account No. 7552-09552-5606101-106220 Stormwater Management MSTU, Land Acquisition.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board is authorized to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

 

recommendation

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Assignment of Standard Purchase and Sale Agreement for the purchase of property located on Josephine Street in the amount of $35,000.00.  It is further recommended that the County Attorney’s Office be designated to sign all documents necessary to finalize the purchase.
