Proposed Board Policy No. 45-01 Creating Hernando County Delegation on Government Efficiency (DOGE)
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
At the April 8, 2025, Board meeting, there was discussion on establishing the Hernando County Delegation on Government Efficiency (DOGE) and whether it should be adopted as an ordinance or policy. The Board came to a consensus to bring back DOGE to the Board as a Board Policy for the April 22, 2025, Board meeting. Hernando County DOGE would be an advisory council to review county government spending, regulatory policies, and governance structures to identify waste, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities. This initiative aligns with conservative governance principles of fiscal responsibility, limited government, and taxpayer protection, ensuring that Hernando County operates efficiently and remains accountable to its residents.
