Review and Approval of the First Addendum to the Lease Agreement for the Hernando/Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Office Space

body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
The current lease agreement (copy attached) between the Hernando/Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners (Building Division) began July 1, 2024,and expires on June 30, 2025, with optional three one-year annual renew periods.

Upon discussion and coordination with the County Administrator, and in an effort to be more efficient by addressing the lease every three years rather than on an annual basis, the MPO Staff is requesting the MPO Board approve a First Addendum (copy attached) to the Lease Agreement to extend it for a three-year period commencing on July 1, 2025, and expiring at midnight on June 30, 2028. Prior to expiration, the parties may agree to extend the term of the lease by approving an addendum to the First Addendum to the original lease agreement.

Furthermore, an additional change in the lease was made allowing for the Landlord to have the right to relocate the MPO office if needed. The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners will need to approve the First Addendum after it is approved by the MPO Board.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The annual MPO Office lease in the amount of $12,535.00 is eligible for reimbursement by federal PL grant funding allocated to the MPO, approved in the Unified Planning Work Program, and approved in the Hernando County adopted budgets in the MPO Fund 1031.

LEGAL NOTE
The First Addendum was prepared by the Property Management Office, reviewed by the County Attorney's office, and has been stamped as to form and legal sufficiency. Pursuant to Chapter 339.175, FS, the MPO Board has the authority to take the recommended Action.
