BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners received a portion of redistributed lapsing Federal Fiscal Year 2021 Section 5307 funds in the amount of $712,014.00. Funding is 100% Capital Federal Funds with a 20% soft match from Florida Department of Transportation Toll Revenue Credits (TRC) in the amount of $178,004.00. Hernando Transit will utilize these funds to purchase a replacement 30-foot bus.
Attached is a resolution ratifying the previous submission of the grant application due to time constraints for award of the lapsing funds. It is requested that the Board authorize the County Administrator, or his designee, to complete all necessary functions relevant to the application of the award for the execution of the Federal Transit Award Management System (TrAMS), including application development, application planning, developing the executive summary, projects within the application, and corresponding budget descriptions.
Due to time constraints, this grant application was submitted with approval of the County Administrator pursuant to Grant Policy 15-01 and is being brought to the Board for ratification of the application via the attached proposed resolution.
The attached budget resolution will provide funding to the FY2026 Mass Transit Budget.
