Discussion Regarding Proposed Conceptual Designs for Linda Pedersen Park Observation Tower Replacement

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Board of County Commissioners previously authorized the Parks Department to begin the process of conceptual design for the replacement of the Linda Pedersen Observation Tower.
OWA Architecture, in coordination with Coastal Engineering, has provided a brief presentation for the Board to discuss three conceptual designs for a replacement tower, to be located at Linda Pedersen Park.
On July 17, 2026, the Parks and Recreation Department met with the Tourism Department and several environmental clubs seeking input as to their initial review of the conceptual designs for the replacement tower. The environmental clubs have provided written recommendations with their choice of the three conceptual plans. Those letters are attached.
