Notification From Tax Collector Announcing Return of Excess Funds for FY 2022-2023

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Per Sec. 218.36, F.S., excess funds are to be proportionately returned to each governmental unit. For fiscal year ended September 30, 2023, Sally L. Daniel, Hernando County Tax Collector, will return $2,735,685.20 to the Board of County Commissioners.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Excess funds returned to the Board in the amount of $2,735,685.20 of which $1,969,150.72 will be returned to the General Fund. See attached distribution.
LEGAL NOTE
The funds are being returned pursuant to Section 218.36, Florida Statutes.
