BRIEF OVERVIEW
The purpose of the policy update is to aligne Hernando County Policy with the statute and clarify the program in order to provide a dignified, respectful, and uniform procedure for the final disposition of human remains, which are unclaimed, or qualify as indigent, pursuant to Chapter 406, Florida Statute. Housing and Supportive Services has attached the revised Hernando County Disposition of Human Remains policy for your consideration. The policy was last updated in 2004.

It is recommended that the Board approve the revised policy and attached Authorization for Creation and Disposition form.
