Renewal of Contract Number 23-RG0033 for RFQ - Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) General Planning Consultant Services

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Competitively solicited Contract Number 23-RG0033, for MPO General Planning Consultant Services was awarded to two consultants via separate agreements with Alfred Benesch and Company, and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Incorporated.  The contract agreements are for three years with two additional one-year renewal options.  The contracts were due to expire on December 6, 2026, unless the renewal options were exercised.

Please be advised that both consultants confirmed, in writing, of their desire to renew the contracts (see attached signed letters of renewal).  On August 13, 2026, Hernando County issued the attached letters exercising the options to renew the contracts for both additional one-year periods simultaneously, under the same terms, conditions, and pricing as stated in the original agreement.  The renewal term for both contracts is December 7, 2026, through December 6, 2028.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Consultant services are identified in the FY2027-FY2028 Unified Planning Work Program and tasks are assigned based upon the UPWP activities.  Eligible expenses are reimbursed at 100% via the PL Contract #G3R55.  Funds are contained in the Hernando County Budget (MPO Fund B136) in FY 2026 and the proposed budget for FY2027.
