Agreement With Hernando County Housing Authority Regarding Administration of State Housing Initiative Partnership Program

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County and Hernando County Housing Authority entered into an agreement on June 15, 1993, which was clarified through a memorandum of agreement on January 11, 2016, regarding the administration of the Florida’s State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program in Hernando County. To expand housing development and services as identified in the Housing Element of the County’s Comprehensive Plan, a new agreement has been reached which replaces the existing agreement. This new agreement modifies the terms and services for the parties in regard to Florida’s State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program.
The proposed agreement is attached and requires Board approval. There is a related Ordinance proposed for adoption as a separate item (Legistar 13858).

The Board has authority to take this action pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on the attached agreement with the Hernando County Housing Authority for the administration of the Florida’s State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program in Hernando County.
