BRIEF OVERVIEW
Staff is requesting Board approval to submit an application to the Florida Humanities Florida Talks Program. The program provides libraries with access to humanities-based presentations facilitated by approved scholars. If approved, this application would allow the Library to host three Florida Talks programs focused on engaging the community in meaningful discussions related to history, culture, and contemporary issues, as outlined in the attached application. Participation aligns with the Library’s mission to support lifelong learning and community engagement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no direct financial impact to the Library. Program costs are covered by Florida Humanities. Staff time and use of Library facilities would be the only in-kind contributions.

The Board has the authority to act upon this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
