Construction Contract With Statewide Safety Services, LLC, for Glen Lake's Commons Signalized Intersection Improvements Project and Associated Budget Amendment

BRIEF OVERVIEW
In April of 2025, the Commission entered an agreement for the construction of a signalized intersection project at US Highway 19/Commercial Way and Glen Lakes Boulevard. The agreement was between Glen Lake's Commons, LLC (GLC) and Hernando County. The agreement allowed for the parties to work cooperatively for the signal construction and associated intersection improvements. GLC oversaw obtaining bids for the project.
GLC solicited bids for the project inviting five (5) traffic signal contractors to bid for this Project but only received one bid proposal from Statewide Safety Services.
* Traffic Control Products declined to submit due to overloaded project schedule.
* Highway Safety Services declined to submit due to overloaded project schedule.
* Carter Electric Services declined to submit due to the distance from their offices.
* Goodwin Brothers declined to submit due to overloaded project schedule.
The County recommends the project be awarded to Statewide Safety Services, LLC in the amount of $1,423,380.83, whom has been determined to be the most reasonable and responsive bidder.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for the Glen Lakes Signalization CIP Project #112236 in the amount of $1,423,380.83 is available in the following account with approval of the attached budget amendment realigning funds from Reserves:
