Budget Resolution Recognizing FY 2020 State Department of Transportation Section 5311 Grant Funding for Transit Operations

BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Board has been allocated $132,258 in Section 5311 funding by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for public transit operations for a total project cost of $264,516.  The 50% local match would be funded by the 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax.

 

Attached is the executed Section 5311 Public Transportation Grant Agreement (G1H25) provided by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).  Also attached is the adopted resolution for the agreement.

 

It is proposed to utilize the funding for operator contract services over the next several months.

 

Attached is the budget resolution to recognize this funding for the County’s FY2023 transit budgets.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding for this grant will be programmed in the FY2023 budget in the Mass Transit Department # 34012 and GMS # 376.

Pursuant to Chapter 125, F.S., the Board has the authority to take the recommended action.

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached budget resolution recognizing funding from Section 5311 Public Transportation Grant Agreement (G1H25) in FY2023.
