Budget Amendment Transferring Funds From Reserves for Contingency to Contracted Services and Promotions for Monument Signs, Marketing Technology, and Additional Advertising Opportunities for Tourism Development

BRIEF OVERVIEW
At the January 26, 2023, meeting of the Tourist Development Council (TDC), the Council voted to approve additional spending in FY 2023 to fund several key initiatives. These initiatives are items that will greatly benefit the County’s tourism marketing efforts and/or improve the visitor experience. The new initiatives are listed below, and the attached memo provides a more detailed explanation.
• Monument Signs
• Digital Technology and Tools
• Expand FloridasAdventureCoast.com
• Main Street Lighting
• Enhanced Media Outreach
• International Marketing
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The requested amount of $234,552.00 approved by the TDC is available in reserves for contingencies; Account No. 1261-02811-5909910. Reserves will still exceed the required level after the transfer of funds to the operating accounts. An additional $300 is being transferred between operating accounts to balance those accounts at this time.

The Board is authorized to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
