BRIEF OVERVIEW

Staff received a request from Paula Holtsclaw, HMIS Administrator of Mid Florida Homeless Coalition, for a resolution proclaiming November 12, 2022, through November 20, 2022, as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in Hernando County. 

 

The attached resolution acknowledges that hunger and homelessness continue to be a serious problem for many individuals and families in Hernando County.  It serves to educate the public about the many reasons people are hungry and homeless; encourages support for homeless assistance service providers, food pantries, as well as community service opportunities for students and school service organizations; and recognizes organizations committed to addressing and resolving the many needs of the homeless.
