Resolution Amending Resolution Nos. 2022-89 and 2023-103 Relating to Public Transportation Grant Agreements With State Department of Transportation for State Block Grant Transit Funding

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

State Block Grant funding is made available to eligible grantees for operating expenses associated with providing transit service.  This funding recurs each fiscal year, and it is based upon methodology utilized by the State to establish the amount eligible for each grantee. Resolution 2022-89 (adopted May 10, 2022, for Joint Participation Agreement Contract G2662) and Resolution 2023-103 (adopted May 23, 2023, for Joint Participation Agreement Contract G2D50), include language that limits the State Block Grant to match operating funds on Federal Transit Administration Section 5307 funding.

The proposed resolution removes that language from Resolution 2022-89 and Resolution 2023-103 and aligns with the FDOT Eligible transit operating costs which are the total administrative, management, and operation costs directly incident to the provision of public bus transit services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

No Financial Impact.  Funds have been awarded and are in the FY25 Budget.

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
