Ratification of Emergency Purchase Order to Goodwin Bros Construction, Inc., for Wallien Drive South Culvert Replacement Project

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Department of Public Works (DPW) was notified by residents that the existing elliptical reinforced concrete pipe (ERCP) situated north of the intersection of Christian Circle and Wallien Drive is dis-jointed in multiple locations on thus threatening to compromise the integrity of Wallien Drive foundation.
The Procurement Department issued Purchase Order No. 23000833 in the amount of $181,000.00 on May 31, 2023, to Goodwin Bros Construction, Inc., to do elliptical reinforcement to the existing concrete pipe (ERCP). DPW is bringing the purchase order to the Board for ratification.
The actual repairs were recently completed at the final cost of $131,451.70. Change Order One (1) has been created to decrease the “estimated” Purchase Order amount to an “actual” purchase order amount and to pay/close this emergency purchase order upon Board approval.

Funding in the amount of $131,451.70 is available in Account No. 1017-03231-5616368-112028, LOGT 1-6 Fuel-Genl Trans, Capital Improv- LOGT 1-6, Improv-Culvert Replacements, Project title: Wallien Dr. S Culvert Rep.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board ratify Purchase Order No. 23000833 in the amount of $131,451.70 to Goodwin Bros Construction Inc., for the Wallien Drive South Culvert Replacement Project and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders if they become necessary and required.
