BRIEF OVERVIEW
On September 29, 2011, the Board approved award of Contract No. 11-0008 to Republic Services of Florida for an estimated annual spend amount of $7,575,500 and authorized the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to approve change orders up to the department’s budget.
The purchase order was originally issued for $7,575,500. Change order No. 1, in the amount of $220,000, would increase the purchase order to $7,795,500, above the current budgeted amount.
The Solid Waste Department has requested an increase to cover all costs through Fiscal Year 2023 for Purchase Order No. 23000275 for garbage collection in the Universal area.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
With approval of attached budget resolution there will be sufficient funds in account 7034-09034-5303401, Contracted Services for the additional $220,000 change order request. Budget resolution increasing revenues and expenditures for Assessment Services Non-Ad Valorem 7034-3252001 by $151,891; Interest Investments Account No. 7034-3611500 $68,109; and Contracted Services Item 7034-09034-5303401 by $220,000.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached budget resolution and approve Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $220,000 to Purchase Order No. 23000275 bringing the total purchase order amount to $7,795,500.
