Federally Funded Subaward and Grant Agreement With State Division of Emergency Management for Expenses Resulting From Hurricane Idalia

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) has approved Hernando County’s application for Public Assistance for Hurricane Idalia. This agreement will allow Hernando County to recover expenses incurred during Hurricane Idalia at 75% of the costs and County will be responsible for 25%. The period of performance for Categories A and B will be from August 31, 2023, to February 29, 2024, and for Categories C through G will be extended to February 28, 2025.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The agreement cost share (75% federal, 25% local) will increase revenue across multiple funds. The approximate amount to be requested for reimbursement is $2,200,000.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board is authorized to act upon this matter pursuant to Chapters 125 and 252, Florida Statutes.

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on the attached federally funded subaward and Grant Agreement No. Z3946.
