BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is applying for the FY 2023 Local Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $41,206. HCSO will use these funds to purchase approximately 6 in-car cameras for patrol vehicles.
The attached Certifications and Assurances by the Chief Executive of the Applicant Government is required to be signed by the Chairman.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Once awarded, the grant funds will be budgeted through the Sheriff’s Office with no impact to the Board.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board is authorized to take the recommended action pursuant Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Certification and Assurances and authorize Jacob Lynch, Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Accounting Specialist, to submit the grant application electronically via Grants.gov and Justgrants.usdoj.gov along with required electronic certifications.
