Discussion Regarding Proposed Ordinance Regarding Community Appearance Regulations

BRIEF OVERVIEW
On March 3, 2026, the Development Services Director presented proposed changes and updates to Hernando County Code Chapter 10 which governs Community Appearance. The revisions in the attached proposed ordinance are more extensive than what was previously presented in that the current Chapter 10 would be repealed in its entirety and replaced with new language.
The public hearing on the proposed ordinance will be held on September 1, 2026.

There is no financial impact associated with this request.

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board discuss the proposed ordinance, take public comments thereon, and direct staff to make any changes that it deems to be necessary in advance of public hearing to be held on September 1, 2026.
