body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Housing and Supportive Services received two original copies of the attached Low Income Pool Letter of Agreement from the Agency of Health Care Administration.  The Letter of Agreement by and between Hernando County on behalf of Premier Community Health Care Group and the State of Florida Agency of Health Care Administration (Agency) is for participation in the Medicaid Low Income Pool (LIP).

Per House Bill, the General Appropriations Act of State fiscal year 2024-2025, passed by the 2024 Florida Legislature, the Intergovernmental Transfers (IGT) provider and the Agency agree that the IGT provider will remit IGT funds to the Agency in the amount not to exceed the total of $200,000.00.  The deadline to the agency is October 1, 2024.

The Board and Agency furthermore agree that these IGT funds will be only used to increase the provision of health services for charity care in Hernando County and the State of Florida at large.  Per Florida Statute 409.98, annual payments for the month of July 2024 through June 2025 are due to the Agency no later than October 2025, unless an alternative plan is specifically approved by the Agency.
