Purchase of Various Vehicles Through Fleet Replacement Program

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando County Fleet Management is requesting the ability to purchase a total of forty-eight (48) vehicles for the County.  Nineteen (19) are new additions to the Vehicle Replacement Program and twenty-nine (29) are actual replacements. All twenty-nine (29) of the vehicles being turned in by the departments will go to surplus. The estimate cost to purchase the vehicles is $2,524,936.00.  Eighteen (18) of the vehicles will be purchased by departments utilizing the one-time payment option estimated at $994,721.00.  The remaining thirty (30) will be part of the Fleet Replacement Program with an estimated cost of $1,530,215.00.  Funds will be available with the approval of the future requested loan.  Departments have budgeted for these vehicles in their FY25 budget.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding for vehicles will be available in the Fleet Replacement Program Fund:  5081 - Fleet Replacement Program, Department:  08031 - Fleet Replacement Program, Account:  5606405 - Equip-Vehicles, trailer>$500, with the approval of the attached replacement list.

 

The purchase order roll budget updates, LS 15102, will update this budget line item, upon approval. 

 

LEGAL NOTE

Approval by the Board is in accordance with Hernando County Procurement Ordinance, Part II, Chapter 2, Article 2, Article V.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board approve and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to sign and award purchase orders for vehicles under the Fleet Replacement Program, as budgets allow.  It is further recommended the Board approve the loan request(s) as they are requested.
