BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County seeks to enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to demolish up to four (4) private wastewater package plants and construct a lift station, force mains, gravity main piping, and associated components needed to complete connection to the county’s central wastewater collection system. The subject sites are located within first order magnitude spring sheds within Hernando County. This project is a continuation of Hernando County’s effort to provide wastewater service to existing residential and commercial developments adjacent to surrounding springs and spring sheds.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for Construction will be available in HCUD-Capital Improvement other than Bldg Expense account: B412-200-30209-40-53600-566350 Amount $1,000,000.00 and Proprietary-State Cap Contr Revenue Account: B412-200-30209-40-00000-389600 upon approval of the attached Budget Transfer.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the FDEP Grant Agreement No. SR012 and corresponding Budget Transfer for the Private Package Plant Connections Project.
