Interlocal Agreement for Fire Protection and Other Emergency Services With City of Brooksville

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services and the City of Brooksville Fire Department would like to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement to assist each other in responding to emergency services and utilize resources which benefits the citizens of Hernando County and City of Brooksville. The scope of the agreement includes, but is not limited to, automatic assistance in responding to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous conditions, rescue and extrication situations, water rescues, natural disasters, and other types of emergency incidents that are within the standard scope of services provided by fire departments in the usual and customary practices.
The term of the agreement shall continue until September 20, 2024, at which time this agreement shall automatically renew for an additional year unless terminated in writing by the parties at least sixty (60) days in writing prior to the expiration date.
The City of Brooksville City Council approved the agreement on January 9, 2023.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached interlocal agreement for fire protection with the City of Brooksville.
