BRIEF OVERVIEW
On October 18, 2022, Hernando County Department of Public Works requested piggyback of Polk County Contract 22-245 Pavement Preservation and Recycling Treatments, with a contract expiration date of April 30, 2025, with automatic renewal of two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
Hernando County Department of Public Works currently has no Pavement Preservation and Recycling Treatments Contract and requests piggyback approval with Asphalt Paving Systems to provide those Contract services, in the annual estimated amount of $2,000,000.00.
Hernando County Procurement Department issued Contract No. 23-P0008/DK for tracking purposes.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding to award the Contract in the annual estimated amount of $2,000,000.00 is available in Expense Accounts:
• 1013-03211-5606308 (Road Assessment/MSBU Program)
• 1013-03211-5616306 (Road & Bridge (non-MSBU/Pvmt Mgmt Projects)
• 1022-03241-5616305 (Pavement Management-Collector Roads)

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the utilization of Polk County Contract 22-245 with Asphalt Paving Systems for pavement preservation and recycling treatments in the annual estimated amount of $2,000,000.00 or as future budgets allow and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.
