BRIEF OVERVIEW
This amendment of the composting and waste reduction grant contract between Hernando County and the U.S. Department of Agriculture allows for the purchase instead of lease of the required equipment. The difference in cost will be utilized as the required grant match in lieu of In-Kind Service that was initially identified the original contract.
This amendment will also extend the contract from February 8, 2025, to May 8, 2025.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Increase of grant match $137,816 in local funds Revenue Account No. 4411-33401-3999078 and Expense Account No. 4411-33401-5626401.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board has the authority to act on this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Amendment One to the attached composting and waste reduction grant between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Hernando County under Contract No. NR233A750005C007 and attached associated budget resolution.
